Catarina Marques a Portuguese ceramic artist. Born in Lisbon, she found a passion for ceramics while studying Product Design - Ceramics and Glass at the Upper School of Arts and Design, in Caldas da Rainha. Deeply inspired by nature, capturing its essence through fluid, organic forms, each piece is a unique sculptural expression of movement and life, reflecting an intimate dialogue between material, form and the natural world. ‘The Tide Line’ collective exhibition curated by Justīne Mūrniece and Luisa Hentsch (LDW After Hours). Draws inspiration from Lisbon's proximity to the ocean. A selection of designers was invited by the Lisbon Design Week to create a unique 'pearl' installation, using their specialized materials, techniques to connecting emerging talents designers based in Lisbon. 'Glass Pearl', a ceramic and glass piece installation by Catarina Marques, in collaboration with Exlibris Practice that showcases the fishing traditions of Lisbon seas. Deeply inspired by fluid nature, capturing its essence through organic forms an intimate dialogue between material and the sea world.
